Though I’m not quite sure how we heard about this community event, Jared and I are certainly thrilled we did! For two years, the Adirondack Jazz Orchestra has been playing on the first Wednesday of the month at Olive Ridley’s Restaurant in downtown Plattsburgh. Shows run from 8:00-10:00pm and are free of charge so you can bring the whole family! This talented group is made up of local high school music teachers, college professors and college students who truly love to play and perform. Every song is so strong, bold and powerfully played that you find yourself dancing in your seat!
Last month I brought along a camera since it’s been forever since we just photographed something for fun! Thanks to our trusty D700, these were all captured without flash and at very high ISO of 5000! All of the images below are straight-out-of-camera (SOOC for short), meaning they were not edited. Sometimes it’s fun to deviate from the light, bright and crisp images that we produce for our clients and just push the limits of our camera. It also tested how steady my hand was as some of these were taken at a very slow shutter speed!
Come on down to Olive Ridley’s this Wednesday, October 5th at 8:00pm and check out the Adirondack Jazz Orchestra! You’ll thank us later when your humming jazz songs for the rest of the week. 🙂
