The Campbell-Fountain Family

On a dreary, drizzly and brisk October day, Jared and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Erin, Dave and Gavin for a sweet little family session.  Since Dave is the property manager for the Valcour Conference Center and they live on the facilities, we got to use the grounds as our background!!

Jared and I both worked for Erin at the Technical Assistance Center of SUNY Plattsburgh back in our college days.  Talk about jackpot college job! Paid $7.50/hour (highest in the school at the time!), hours were flexible and Erin was an awesome boss.  You can’t beat that!

We ventured upstairs to the second floor porch, which overlooked Lake Champlain.  The best part about an overcast day is perfectly even light!

I just love that mop of blond hair!

Back inside to the beautiful Valcour Room.  Each of the bedroom in the main house have a distinct personality and are named after people and places that are historically relevant to the area.

Braving the cold and drizzle for some shots outside!! Such troopers!

Such a cutie.  He’s going to be a heart breaker in a few years!

Erin, Dave and Gavin – thanks so much for having us and braving the conditions!! You guys were awesome!!

Isabelle’s 1st Birthday!

I just uploaded these to facebook and I couldn’t help but share them here as well.  For those of you who followed my old blog, you know that Isabelle is my darling little god-daughter.  She had a Dora themed 1st birthday party back in October and I was able to capture all of her crazy faces when she dove into her cake!

This is the “Mom are you really sure I can do this?” look!  She was so hesitant at first!

Going for it!

Yum!!

The one on the left is a Facebook favorite!

Might be feeling a bit nauseous here but still rockin’ the cake infused mohawk!

The one on the left is my absolute favorite!! So stinkin’ adorable!

All this adorable cake goodness reminded me of a picture of myself, circa 1986.  This is one of two baby images that I actually have down here in MA so I had to upload it!  I assure you that my love of  ice cream cake has not faded.

Which image was your favorite?

Kathy Ellen Davis - And Debbie still makes that face to this day when eating cake or related products. I think the translation is: “This is my cake, and as long as you understand that, you can take as many pictures of me as you want. But if you try to eat it……”

I think you can finish that as you see fit.

Sarah - Hey Deb! Just thought of a great suggestion for you! You should hop on over to Weddingbee.com and post your services in their classifieds and vendor page. They are by far one of my favorite wedding blogs (not that I’m biased or anything)and I know that they get a ton of traffic.

Deirdre Lydon - May 7

Erin Bradshaw - Hi Debbie!
I don’t know if this is legal, but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’d like to enter my friends, Danielle Garneau and Chris Lafty for the baby photo shoot! They are due sometime in the middle or end of January. They don’t know if it is a boy or a girl, so exciting! They live in Peru. If I can do that, keep them in consideration. If not, no hurt in trying! Miss you <3

The Bigelow Kids

Sometimes just going with the flow gets you the best results.  Sam and I went to high school together and she was the lucky winner of a facebook contest I did a few months back.  Our plans were to take some family shots and then some of the kids, but Sam wasn’t feeling well so we decided to just hangout, let the kids relax and play in the house.

These are the kind of sessions that Jared and I just love.  Capturing the simplest of everyday moments, no posing needed, no fussing kids not wanting to sit still.  Just children being themselves in the comfort of their own home.  It’s these same pictures that I look back and smile at my own childhood – where you can see what the layout in the living room was at the time, how the carpet used to look before it became worn and what toys were scattered about.  A snapshot of life in that very moment which cannot be replicated or duplicated, is at the very center of why we love doing what we do.

I have to start with this picture of Mikayla that Jared captured.  Scrolling through the images, this one stopped me dead in my tracks.  So innocent and sweet with her favorite blankie and Gus Gus in hand.

The adorable Jayce who so desperately wants to walk!

She loves that blankie!! I was the same way!

Josh and Sam are both such amazing parents!  Jared and I were awed and inspired with how calm their house was with a 2 year old, infant, and baby number three on the way.

Wardrobe change!! Love, love, love the shot on the right – look at the shoes!

Sam and Josh – thank you so much for allowing us to come in and capture a bit of the everyday with you and the kids!!

Ben - These are great, love the blankie ones.

Still the one

A few weekends ago, Jared and I went to Clayton, NY to sort out some wedding details.  The great thing about heading to Jared’s hometown is that we have no internet access.  His parents don’t even have a computer, and it’s actually a welcoming sight.  I love that it allows us to unwind a bit, and be more creative in how we keep ourselves entertained.

We ventured outside, with our cameras of course, and decided to head down to the water when we saw the sun setting.

What started with Jared shooting my silhouette,

quickly became a fun game of run, jump and make crazy silhouette pictures!

And so the photo-shoot ensued…

We were laughing so hard, checking the pictures and saying “WHOA – That is soooo cool” like giddy third graders.  The sun finally set and we were on our way back to the house when I glanced down at my watch to realize we had just 5 minutes to get to church on time.  We had been outside for over an hour, playing on the playground, in the leaves and then down on the dock and completely lost track of time.

As we walked into church with our jeans on, cameras around our necks and 30 seconds before service started, we were both grinning ear to ear.

What was so simple as spending time together, laughing, letting loose and acting like kids left us both with so much joy.  It really is the simple things in our lives that make them most worth living.  These pictures will forever be a reminder to us to slow down, enjoy the moment, our surroundings and each other.

Happy four years, Jare!!!

“We’re still having fun, and you’re still the one!!”

Kathy Ellen Davis - I love it! Parkour! Nice pictures, glad you guys had a nice weekend!

Sarah - Love this! You both sound so happy and in love! Congrats to 4 years!

Krista - Love this post! Looks like so much fun!

Kristen - Isn’t love grand! Love the web page!
