Though the forecast made everyone anxious in the days leading up to the race, the weather held up and it turned out to be a beautiful day for 13.1 miles! With the exception of the wind around mile 10, everyone said the race course and conditions were fantastic! It was such a pleasure to be there to capture everyone crossing the finish line. What is really surprising is the number of people smiling as they crossed the line! Can’t say that I blame them though! It was such a fun and exciting atmosphere as people lined up for the very first Octoberfest Half Marathon in beautiful Peru, NY.
Congratulations to Ruth Hamilton LaClair for an amazing job in coordinating and creating the event to raise funds for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. The team of volunteers, which included many friends and family members, worked incredibly hard to make the day as smooth as possible and I’d have to say it was flawless!
The much anticipated finisher photos are now available by clicking HERE! Images are available in 5×7 format for $10, with proceeds going to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation!
And just for fun, I’ll leave you with my favorite finisher photo of the day! Don’t be afraid to acknowledge the photographer 🙂
